Ted Baker started in 1988 and has been showing a slow and steady growth for decades. To represent this growth, the 2015/16 Annual Report took the form of a victorian-style botanical book aptly titled Steady As He Grows. Collaborating closely with the printing team, I meticulously curated and sampled various materials to ensure the project’s unique quality.
The covers are made of actual synthetic turf, giving the report a distinct and tactile feel. The title plaque is gold-debossed leather and the envelope it was delivered in was made of tarpaulin. While working on the layout, I also briefed the illustrator to integrate Ted Baker products into the botanical illustrations that I had sketched up for him.
This project won first prize at The Review Awards in the Annual Report Design category.
